NDLEA intercepts cocaine concealed in suitcases

Published on April 06, 2025 at 11:11 AM

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered and intercepted a significant quantity of cocaine ingeniously concealed within the walls of multiple suitcases.

The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed the development via a statement posted on his official X handle on Sunday, alongside video footage of the operation.

According to Babafemi, the drug smugglers went to extraordinary lengths to hide the narcotics, embedding them with surgical precision into the linings of the luggage in a manner likened to factory-fitting.

“Strewing the walls of suitcases, in factory fitting precision, with cocaine, must have taken a lot of efforts and resources but at the end, NDLEA officers still uncovered all,”; Babafemi stated.

The accompanying videos released by the agency showed NDLEA operatives meticulously slicing through the inner compartments of the suitcases to extract the concealed drugs.

The agency did not disclose the exact quantity of cocaine seized or the identities of the suspects involved. More details are expected as investigations continues.
