Chairman of the Campaign for Democracy, Human Rights Advocacy, and Civil Society of Nigewria, Dr Mohammed Abdullahi Jabi, has strongly condemned President Donald Trump's shutdown of Voice of America, VOA, and other media outlets.

Dr Jabi accused Trump of abusing his constitutional powers, stating that information is a fundamental aspect of human existence.

The chairman of Campaign for Democracy criticized the decision of President Trump, describing the action as “sentimental, undemocratic and unacceptable globally.

The activist emphasized that governance is about press freedom, urging Trump to exercise restraint as failure to do so may lead to impeachment by UN lawmakers to protect American reputation.

Dr Jabi warned that Trump's plan could lead to unemployment among media practitioners, particularly Africans, while advising him to reverse the policy, considering its far-reaching consequences.

The Activist also called for a media war against Trump's action, urging other media organizations to unite and fight for media constitutional powers.

He further described Trump's move as a “crime against humanity,” which would deprive the media of holding leaders accountable and ensuring transparency.

” Trump should stop using his official position to undermine media survival and practitioners. If he persists he should be taken to court to get justice. We advise him to reconsider his stance, allowing VOA and other media outlets to return to the airwaves for humanity's benefitadde”

”Media support during campaigns does not justify suppressing media freedom and creating joblessness, social problems, and criminality,” Dr Jabi added.
