Enyimba head coach, Stanley Eguma has hailed his team's “tough” Oriental derby win against holders Rangers.

The nine-time champions recorded a 2-1 away win against Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.

Eguma's side dominated the first half, and scored two goals through Innocent Gabriel and Ekenne Awazie.

Chiedozie Okorie reduced the deficit for Rangers in the 66th minute.

The gaffer declared that the derby was a game of two halves.

“This is the biggest Oriental Derby game. It turned out a game of two halves. We dominated the first half and scored twice,” Eguma said after the game.

“Rangers dominated the second half and got a goal. I respect them. They are a good side, but today, we came and won.”

Enyimba moved to fifth position with 52 points from 35 games following the win.
