Published on April 28, 2025 at 11:25 AM

Rangers manager, Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed disappointment with the outcome of his Oriental derby against Enyimba.

The Flying Antelopes lost 2-1 to Enyimba at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.

Innocent Gabriel and Ekene Awazie were on target for Enyimba while Chidozie Okorie scored the consolation for Rangers.

Ilechukwu said his players failed to convert the chances created in the game.

“It was not the result we wanted, but football showed itself again,” Ilechukwu stated in a post-match interview.

“We had a bad first half where we let in two goals but came back stronger in the second stanza, got a goal back but failed to convert more chances that were created.

“It’s a painful loss, and we grieve over the loss.”;

Rangers dropped to eighth position with 49 points from 35 games.

They will take on Rivers United in their next league encounter in Port Harcourt.
