The Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, according to a statement released by the Command spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde, said the arrests is in line with the mandate of the Corps.

The commandant revealed that the suspects were arrested on April 10, 2025, at about 11:00am at Oloki Reservoir Site via Akoda, along Gbongan-Osogbo road, Ede.

According to him, “discreet investigation revealed that the suspects, who are laterite miners, damaged a 450mm pipe while mining laterite”.

Sotiyo while warning those vandalising government infrastructure to desist from such acts or face the consequences, added that the NSCDC is committed to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.

“Those found culpable will be brought to justice,” he said.

The trio, DAILY POST gathered, were arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Ede on Monday, April 14, 2025 where they pleaded not guilty to the charges slammed against them.
