‘One battle down, two more to go’ – Senator Natasha reacts as INEC rejects recall petition

Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan has expressed delight after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, rejected the petition for her recall.

DAILY POST earlier reported that the electoral umpire on Thursday , declaring that it failed to meet the requirements of the Nigerian constitution.

In a statement, INEC said the number of constituents who signed the petition against the suspended lawmaker fell short of 50% of registered voters in the constituency as required by the constitution.

Reacting, Natasha dedicated the victory to Nigerians.

On her official Facebook page, the lawmaker wrote, “On God it’s victory for the people. One battle down, two more to go.

“Deep gratitude to my beloved husband, awesome support team, magnificent people of Kogi Central and great people of Nigeria at large.

“INEC Nigeria, you did well. Senator Natasha H Akpoti Uduaghan Proudly Kogi Central.”
