Otti sidelining Labour Party members in appointments – Abure’s faction allege

Published on April 17, 2025 at 03:33 PM

Prince Ndubueze, the Chairman of the Labour Party, LP faction loyal to Julius Abure has claimed that foundational members of the party have been shut out by Governor Alex Otti.

Ndubueze who made the allegation on Wednesday, alleged that the political family of Governor Otti, Abia Arise now enjoys the fruit of LP victory in Abia.

The pro-Abure LP Chairman who said an enlarged closed door meeting of his party was held in the state, claimed Governor Otti and and former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, are engaging in anti party activities.

Ndubueze alleged that every thing about the state government is built around Abia Arise as according to him, not a single Commissioner was picked from the LP despite the roles of party in the Abia Governor's victory in 2023.

He further said the recent philanthropist journeys of Mr Peter Obi in some Northern parts of the country were embarked upon without consultation with the LP, arguing that Obi is not doing anything to unify the Labour Party family.

On the Supreme Court ruling which sacked Mr Julius Abure as national Chairman, the Abia factional Chairman claimed that the ruling did not remove Abure.
