Photographer pal planned sexy shoot to boost my confidence – but he lured me into changing room to carry out sick act

STARING at the photo of the half-naked woman, Heidi Calitri felt a wave of repulsion surge through her stomach.

The woman was getting undressed behind a curtain to protect her privacy.

But the woman in the photo wasn’t a stranger, it was Heidi.

And not only had the image been taken without her knowledge, it had been captured by one of her closest friends.

Heidi had been full of nervous anticipation before the planned photo shoot with her friend, , from Tallington, .

For years, she’d suffered from and, even as a size six, saw herself as overweight and unattractive, avoiding mirrors at all costs.

Glover, 51, was single when he managed to convince Heidi, 39, that seeing herself in his photos would help her realise how beautiful she was.

But far from building her confidence, Glover had a sickening ulterior motive.

In the changing cubicle next to his studio was a , hidden inside an alarm clock.

He used it to film Heidi — and about 100 other victims he lured to his home or three different studios over a six-year period — as they undressed.

Around 900 videos were later discovered on Glover’s laptop.

In 2023 he was given a 20-month jail term for offences against dozens of women including Heidi.

Earlier this month he faced further charges and has been given a 15-month sentence, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to six counts of voyeurism and one count of sexual assault.

Heidi says: “What he did is the most disgusting betrayal. I looked at the photo and felt sick.

“We were such good friends that even when I found out what he’d done to other women, I couldn’t believe I’d been one of his victims.

“I’d trusted him, yet it feels as though he was grooming me all along. There was never a friendship.”;

Heidi, a hairdresser at the time who has waived her right to anonymity, met Glover through a friend in 2015.

As their friendship developed, Glover and Heidi regularly met for coffee. She also gave him haircuts at her salon. “We grew close and I confided in him about my eating disorder,”; she says.

“I’d struggled with anorexia since I was 13 — it was so severe I was on the brink of hospitalisation several times.

“When we met, I was going through a traumatic divorce and my anorexia had resurfaced.

“I was at my most vulnerable and Glover seemed empathetic.

“He constantly told me how gorgeous I was and said that if I agreed to a photo shoot, I’d look at the pictures and see what everyone else saw.”;

In 2015, a few months after they first met, Heidi found the courage to go ahead with Glover’s plan.

“A mutual friend had been to a shoot with him and the photos were stunning,”; she says.

“I was nervous when I arrived at his studio. It was bare with white walls and a dark floor.

“It took a lot of courage for me to leave the changing room.

“But as the shoot progressed, I felt more comfortable and when he showed me the pictures I was overwhelmed.

“I was wearing a black and white dress and I looked great. I felt euphoric — I’d conquered one of my fears.”;

She said he helped her to relax as the shoot went on, telling her she was “natural in front of the camera”;.

Heidi, who then lived near Market Deeping, Lincs, agreed to more shoots.

Over the next two years, she would pose every few months at Glover’s studio, once at his motorhome and once at her own house.

She grew comfortable around Glover and trusted him implicitly, to such an extent that she posed in , something she said felt “empowering”;.

Although their relationship remained platonic, Heidi says Glover made a couple of clumsy passes at her.

“On one shoot he tried to kiss me, but I batted him away,”; she recalls.

COVERT CAMERA

“If anything, it made me feel sorry for him. Now, when I think about that, it makes me feel even worse. I can’t believe how much he took me in.”;

But in June 2021, Heidi saw a post that sickened her to the core.

It featured a newspaper report detailing how Glover had been charged with voyeurism offences involving 107 victims.

His arrest had come after another victim’s partner discovered a covert camera in the clock in Glover’s changing room. The memory card had footage of his partner getting changed.

The couple went to the and Glover was arrested.

After a police began, more women came forward.

“I felt devastated when I saw the post,”; says Heidi.

“I couldn’t believe a friend had done something so sickening. It took two weeks before I contacted the police to find out if I was one of his victims.”;

A detective sent Heidi a censored image from the footage and she knew instantly it was her.

“My whole world came crashing down for a few moments,”; she says.

“Initially I didn’t want anyone to know, because I felt so much shame. I had no idea what he’d done with the images and how many other people might have seen them.”;

Heidi attend Glover’s sentencing at Peterborough Crown in March 2023. She read out her impact statement as he was put on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.

“It was one of the hardest days of my life,”; she says. “I was so nervous my voice was quivering as I described the toll it had taken on me. I needed to see some remorse, but he kept his eyes to the floor, which made me so angry.”;

For Heidi, the impact of Glover’s actions has been huge. “I really struggled,”; she says. “I couldn’t go in any public toilet and I stopped going swimming because I couldn’t face the changing rooms.

“I didn’t go to hotels and when finally I managed to, I’d check every nook and cranny for anything that seemed suspicious.

“I’d been so unaware in that studio changing room.

“Now, I feel that I have to be hyper- vigilant. I started to mistrust men.

“What he did was so horrendous. If a friend could do that to me, what would others be capable of?”;

Heidi is slowly coming to terms with what happened, thanks to the help of her new partner, who she lives with in , US.

Cambridgeshire Police said 64 more women contacted the force after Glover was jailed in 2023.

But Heidi still feels justice hasn’t been served, saying: “The first sentence was never going to be enough and the fact he hasn’t got a longer sentence the second time is really disappointing.”;

Heidi also urges other women who suspect they too could be a victim of the same man to find the courage to speak up. “I want them to know they will be supported if they do.

“I’ve survived and I know how strong I can be.”;
