Pope Francis’ body to be taken to St. Peter’s Basilica Wednesday -Vatican

The Vatican on Tuesday said the will be taken to St. Peter's Basilica on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. (0700 GMT).

According to the Vatican, the cleric spent five weeks in hospital earlier this year for double pneumonia, stating that he fell into a coma after suffering a stroke and ultimately experienced “irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse.’’

Meanwhile, Cardinals will meet on Tuesday to plan his funeral, which leaders from around the world will attend ahead of a conclave next month to elect a new head of the Roman Catholic Church.
