In a mini-essay on the micro-blogging platform, Walter explained: “While some choose to seek out the negative, I’ve always believed in focusing on the positive.
“I understand the impulse to address what might be seen as cultural insensitivity, but calling it a ‘mistake' would dismiss the impact it had on countless people around the world who found inspiration and representation in TV’s first Black superhero â morphin’ into none other than the Black Power Ranger!”
He added: “It wasn’t a mistake; it was a milestone. It was an honor”
Walter was previously seen with David Yost (Billy the Blue Ranger), and Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly the Pink Ranger) after he shared a photo of their meet up on social media.
They could be seen grinning in front of a sign for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, as he wrote in the caption: “31 years of teenagers with attitude.”
