Qatar 2022: We know why Ben White left England’s World Cup squad – Arteta

Published on December 14, 2022 at 12:11 AM

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has said they know the real reason Ben White left England’s squad in Qatar to fly back home.

White left for “personal reasons”;, but reports claimed the defender had a row with the Three Lions’ assistant manager Steve Holland, and left afterwards.

He, however, featured in Arsenal’s 2-1 mid-season friendly win over AC Milan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Speaking after the victory, Arteta said he was “very pleased”; with White after his return to the club.

He added: “Everybody has been giving him a lot of support and love.

“We know the reasons he had to leave and it’s good to have him in good shape.”;

England were eventually eliminated by France in the quarter-finals, losing 2-1 to the holders.
