Scotland: I want to stay at Rangers and compete for trophies — Dessers

Cyriel Dessers has expressed his desire to stay at Rangers next season and compete for trophies.

The Nigeria international joined the Gers from Italian outfit Cremonese two years ago.

Dessers has won only a League Cup since his arrival at the Scottish Premiership giants.

There is prospect of a some big changes at Rangers next season with a US-based consortium aiming to complete a takeover of the Ibrox club.

The 30-year-old however declared that he he has no intention of leaving the Light Blues any time soon.

“I’m very keen,” the former Feyenoord forward told a press conference ahead of Rangers' league clash with St Mirren.

“I came here two summers ago with the ambition to fight for trophies, to win trophies.

“Now I’m sitting here, we had two amazing runs in Europe, but we only won a trophy, and I don’t think that’s enough.”
