AS renting costs continue to rise across the UK, there's still one place where you can enjoy luxury views without the luxury price tag.

In fact, this idyllic seaside town has been name the cheapest place to in Britain.

Moving platform Getamover.co.uk used data from the Office for National Statistics to determine the most affordable places to rent across the UK.

They found that the seaside town of was ranked the least expensive, with the average monthly rent of a two-bedroom property estimated at £491.

This is significantly lower than the £3,390 charger for the same size property in Westminister, , the UK's priciest neighbourhood for renters.

A five week security deposit in Hartlepool averages around £614 while Westminister will set up back £4,238.

This means that in total Hartlepool renters will face upfront costs of £1,105 while those in central London will pay £7,628.

The average rent in London as of 2025 is £1,220 per month, making this seaside town over £700 cheaper.

Located just 30 minutes outside of Middlesborough, the town has an estimated population of 92,600.

South Tyneside

Other affordable areas on the list included South Tyneside, which has an average upfront cost of £1,307 for renters.

This can be broken down into £581 for a month's rent of a two-bedroom property and £726 for a five week deposit.

Hyndburn

Renters in this area face an average upfront cost of £1,303 each month.

This includes £579 to rent a two-bedroom property and £724 for a five week security deposit.

Cumberland

Another seaside area, Cumberland residents face an average upfront cost of £1,292 to rent.

It costs £574 to rent a two-bedroom property in the area and a further £718 to place a five week deposit.

Redcar and Cleveland

Renters in this area have an estimated cost of £1,292 when setting out to rent.

This breaks down to £574 to rent a two-bedroom property and £718 for a deposit.

Rotherham

Those renting a two-bedroom property in Rotherham will need to have £1,289 on hand for their first month.

Monthly rent averages around £573 while a five-week security deposit is £716.

Barnsley

A total of £1,287 is needed when first setting out to rent in this area.

This includes £572 for a month's rental of a two-bedroom property and £715 for a security deposit.

Ayrshires

To rent a two-bedroom property in Ayrshires, you will need a total of £1,287.

While a month's rent is £572, you will require a further £715 for a security deposit.

North Lincolnshire

Slightly cheaper at £1,285, is the area of North Lincolnshire near Hull.

To rent a two-bedroom property in this area, you're looking at an average of £571 a month while a security deposit will set you back a further £714.

Northumberland

For just £1,280, you can cover your first month's rent and a security deposit in this area.

To let out a two-bedroom you're looking at £569 while a security deposit will cost you an estimated £711.

Pendle

Renters in this area only need £1,278 to set up shop in a two-bedroom home.

This includes first month's rent at £568 and £710 for a five-week security deposit.

Kingston upon Hull, City of

To rent in this area, you will only need around £1,271 in your bank account.

This will cover your first month's rent, estimated to be around £565, and a security deposit of £706.

Darlington

You can rent a two-bedroom in this area for the upfront cost of just £1,271.

A month's rent is estimated to be just £565 while a security deposit is around £706.

Neath Port Talbot

The average upfront cost for renters in Neath Port Talbot is just £1,258.

This breaks down to £559 for a two-bedroom in the Welsh town and £699 for a security deposit.

Blaenau Gwent

Another Welsh area, it will only cost you £1,231 upfront to rent in this part of the UK.

Monthly rents for a two-bedroom are just £547 while a security deposit is £684.

Burnley

Located in the North West, this area has the same pricing break down as Blaenau Gwent.

The upfront costs of renting total at £1,231, broken down to £547 for rent and £684 for a deposit.

Dumfries and Galloway

For just £1,217, you can set yourself up in this area of Scotland.

Rental prices for a two-bedroom average around £541 while a security deposit is just £676.

North East Lincolnshire

This Yorkshire area will set you back just £1,179 when you first move there.

This includes your first month's rent at £524 and a security deposit of £655.

Powys

The cheapest area of Wales to live as a renter, Powys will only cost you £1,175 in upfront costs.

This includes £522 to rent a two-bedroom property and £653 for a security deposit.

County Durham

The only part of the country that is cheaper to live than Hartlepool, County Durham has an upfront cost of £1,172 for renters.

This breaks down to £521 to rent a two-bedroom each month and a security deposit of £651.
