WITH the London marathon taking place next week, you might be feeling inspired to pull on your trainers.
If your favourite sports shoes are looking a little tired, don’t splash out on a new pair.

Get them l with these tricks.
BRUSH IT OFF: Start with brushing dust and dirt from the outside of the trainer, especially on suede areas.
You can just use an old toothbrush for the job rather than buying special tools.
CLEAN UP: Mix warm water with a small amount of washing up-liquid or a pinch of laundry powder in a large bowl or tub.
Remove the laces from your shoe and handwash in the bowl first, using your hands to help massage out grime, then use your old toothbrush to wash the bottom of the shoes.
A damp cloth works well for cleaning the top of the shoe, then let them dry naturally.
WHITEN UP: If your trainers are light-coloured or white and still look dull, a mixed with water can help to clear grime and lighten them up.
Try mixing one spoon of the powder with the same measure of white vinegar and warm water, then apply the paste to the trainer using an old toothbrush, lightly scrubbing in a circular motion and leave to sit in sunlight for around three or four hours.
When the paste is fully dried, simply brush it all off to reveal your sparkling trainers.
SMELL SWEET: Shoes pongi? You can also use baking soda to banish odours.
Pour a couple of tablespoons on the inside, covering the soul, and leave overnight.
The baking soda absorbs bad smells and kills bacteria causing the stink.
When finished, simply empty the powder into a bin, tapping to help remove it all.
You may need to remove insoles to give them a good shake.
