Suspected herdsmen kill man in Oiji community, Benue State

A man identified as Jonah Acheme was killed on Saturday evening in Oiji, a community under the Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.

The victim was attacked by suspected Fulani herders while traveling home from Igah Ologbeche, a nearby village.

The incident occurred along the road leading to Oiji, close to the Idada community.

Oiji, located in the southern part of Benue State, has recently experienced rising tensions involving Fulani herders and local communities.

This latest killing adds to a series of violent attacks in neighboring Idoma communities, raising concerns about the safety of residents in the area.

Details of the attack remain sketchy, but sources told our reporter that Acheme was ambushed on the road by the gunmen.
