A GRITTY new documentary will take a deep dive into megastar Taylor Swift’s path to fame.
has commissioned the show which will look at how she rose to be the biggest singer on the planet, .


But her legions of diehard fans may need to brace themselves for the warts-and-all look at their idol.
A TV insider said: “All the indications are this won’t just be a love letter to , but a genuine in-depth look at the journey she’s been on to become such a star.
“That doesn’t mean the show will be a hatchet job, but it won’t necessarily be a rose-tinted look at her life.”;
Becoming Taylor Swift is being made by Sandpaper Films, which has a reputation for tackling serious subjects.
Other programmes the production company has created include Sky’s Doom Scroll: And The Dark Side Of The Internet and the BBC’s The Untold Story Of , which looked at the tragic killing of 17-month-old Peter Connelly.
A TV insider added: “Sandpaper is a serious outfit which is renowned for scrutinising important topics and bagging industry awards.”;
Its documentary on the Shake It Off hitmaker is likely to look at how the girl from started her journey in the world of country music before becoming a huge mainstream artist who went on to sell .
It is expected to complete filming this year and air in the run-up to .
Taylor is the latest in a string of music stars which Channel 4 has profiled in recent years, albeit for very different reasons.
Other documentaries have included 2023’s George Michael: Outed, which looked at coming out of the closet, and this year’s expose of ’s shocking hidden life, which last year.
I somehow doubt the Swifty doc will be uncovering anything quite that dark.
