Boy, 16, ‘missing in water’ at popular park after getting into difficulty swimming in pond as cops launch urgent search

A 16-YEAR-OLD-BOY has gone “missing in the water” at a busy park after struggling after entering the water.

The teenager went missing in Beckenham Place Park in London just after 3pm today.

Cops rushed to the park after reports of a boy who got into difficulty in the water and have launched an urgent search.

The park was evacuated to help aid emergency services that were desperately searching for the teen.

The boy’s next of kin has been informed and is currently being supported by specialist officers.

Lewisham Council announced on X it was aware of a “serious incident” at 5.20pm.

The post read: “5.20pm: We are aware of a serious incident at Beckenham Place Park.

“Council staff are supporting the Police on site.

“The park is currently closed.”
