Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America, on Wednesday, said those against his administration's tariffs are the same ones who never thought twice when the US lost 90,000 factories and plants since the North American Free Trade Agreement, which took effect in 1994.
Trump disclosed this in his speech at a White House event on Wednesday.
Trump vehemently condemned his critics who are speaking ill of his administration's tariffs.
According to him, his administration's tariff will put America first on the world trade map.
He added that there is no going back on tariffs.
“The shrill voices that you're hearing this week about tariffs are the same scoundrels and frauds who never thought twice about when the United States lost 90,000 factories and plants… since NAFTA,” he stated.
This comes as Trump is set to impose 104 reciprocal tariffs on China on Wednesday if the country fails to reverse its tariff on US goods.
Recall that Trump's tariff announcement on April 2, 2025, had caused global trade disruptions.
