TOTTENHAM were BOOED off at half-time after a shocking first half performance which saw them fall two goals behind visitors Newcastle.
Callum Wilson opened the scoring after a howler by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
The Frenchman made a mess of his touch before colliding with Wilson.
The Magpies forward then lifted the ball into the empty net while Lloris claimed for a foul.
Despite Spurs‘ protests, the goal stood after a VAR check.
In-form Miguel Almiron then doubled Newcastle’s lead, firing low into the far left corner.
Lloris, again, was at fault, with his goal-kick falling short.
And as the half-time whistle went at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Antonio Conte’s men were met with a chorus of boos.
Defeat to Newcastle would spell an end to Spurs’ eight-game unbeaten run at home.
It would also be Tottenham’s second loss on the bounce, having fallen to a defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday.

Conte’s style of play has come into question at times this term, despite his team well in the top-four race.
One fan said on Twitter: “Tottenham fans were never gonna take to Conteâs style so not surprised about the boos.
“When his football is bad, itâs really bad, and you see it more often in fixture pile up like this.”;
