Trailer crashes on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Published on April 18, 2025 at 09:33 AM

Traffic was brought to a standstill on the outbound section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday morning following a trailer accident near the Berger axis in Lagos State.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours, involved a lone trailer transporting a container that overturned and completely obstructed the outward-bound carriageway.

As of the time of filing this report, vehicular movement had been halted for over an hour, with the traffic gridlock extending from the Berger Bridge to the Old Toll Gate near 7Up.

The disruption has forced some motorists to drive against traffic on the inward-bound lane, further compounding the congestion.

Emergency response teams were yet to fully clear the obstruction and restore normal flow as of press time.
