Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully neutralized a notorious bandit kingpin, Ibrahim Kaboni, along with eight of his fighters in a well-coordinated ambush near Keta village, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to intelligence sources available to Zagazola Makama, the ambush was executed on the evening of April 16, 2025, by troops of the 1 Brigade in collaboration with other security agencies, following sustained surveillance on the group's movement.

The encounter led to a fierce gun battle, during which Kaboni and his men were gunned down as they attempted to flee. Others managed to escape with gunshot wounds.

Kaboni had long been on the security watchlist for his involvement in numerous attacks, kidnappings, and cattle rustling incidents across Tsafe and surrounding areas.
