Trump slams China over refusal to accept Boeing jets amid trade war

Published on April 24, 2025 at 04:15 PM

President Donald Trump of the United States has slammed China for refusing to accept Boeing aircraft amid the ongoing trade war between the two countries.

Trump in a Truth Social post on Thursday, called the rejection another example of China taking advantage of the US.

DAILY POST reports that Boeing CEO, Kelly Ortberg had on Wednesday, told CNBC that China stopped taking delivery of aircraft over the tariff war.

The CEO added that some 737 Max planes heading to China were rejected and are being flown back to the US.

Reacting, Trump said “Boeing should default China for not taking the beautifully finished planes that China committed to purchase”.

According to Trump, the rejection is “just a small example of what China has done to the USA, for years”, lamenting that “Fentanyl continues to pour into our Country from China, through Mexico and Canada, killing hundreds of thousands of our people, and it better stop, NOW!”; Trump said on Truth Social.

The US had imposed a 145 percent tariff on China, maintaining a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs on other trading partners.
