Trump to meet Isreali’s Netanyahu at White House

Published on April 05, 2025 at 02:10 PM

US President Donald Trump is expected to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday.

CNN reports that the visit comes as the US administration slapped 17% tariffs on Israel.

It also comes as Israel expands ground operations in northern Gaza, after the collapse of a two-month old ceasefire with Palestinian militant group Hamas in March.

Just last Thursday, Trump and Netanyahu spoke by phone.

After their conversation, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that Gaza is a “big problem”; he hopes to resolve.

“That is another thing we’d like to get solved,”; Trump said.

“Gaza is a very important thing. It has been under siege for many, many years.”
