A dispute between two brothers over mango harvesting in Benishiekh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State has ended in tragedy, with one of them dead and the other hospitalized.

The altercation, which took place on Tuesday around 9 a.m., involved 40-year-old Kajdi Kachalla and his younger brother, 28-year-old Baba Goni Kachalla.

Reports indicate that the argument escalated into a violent fight at their mango plantation in the Ajari area, during which both men inflicted severe head and mouth injuries on each other using wooden sticks.

Police operatives arrived at the scene promptly and rushed the injured siblings to the General Hospital in Benishiekh.

However, Kajdi was pronounced dead upon arrival, while Baba Goni remains under medical care.

The deceased’s body has since been released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
