UCL: Ancelotti in tense meeting with Real Madrid players ahead of Arsenal clash

Published on April 15, 2025 at 05:07 AM

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, reportedly had some strong words for his players during a team meeting ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal.

Los Blancos are looking to overturn a 3-0 deficit against Mikel Arteta's men.

Days after the first leg at the Emirates, Ancelotti is believed to have held a meeting with his players as they seek a “remontada” (a comeback).

According to journalist, Miguel Ángel Díaz, the Italian was “very energetic” and “even raised his voice” to his squad at an animated team meeting on Monday.

Madrid's season is in danger of falling apart. They are four points behind Barcelona in the LaLiga title race and face a huge task to overturn this deficit against Arsenal.

It has led to speculation about Ancelotti's future at the Bernabeu, amid reports that his job could be on the line if they are dumped out of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
