Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has suggested why his team were defeated 3-1 in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg tie against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
Recall that Serhou Guirassy's hat-trick gave Dortmund the victory against Barcelona in Germany.
However, Barcelona advanced to the Champions League semi-final on a 5-3, aggregate win, having won the quarter-final first leg tie 4-0 at Camp Nou last week.
Speaking after Barcelona’s defeat to Dortmund, Flick admitted that the Blaugrana did not play at their best against the Bundesliga side.
He, however, expressed happiness for winning the two-leg fixtures and Barca progressing to the last-4.
“We are in the semi-finals,” Flick said.
“Two games were judged on this and we deserve to be in the next round. They have a great team and made life very difficult for us, but we are through to the next round and that is what counts.”
He added, “We didn’t play at our best today but that was also down to Dortmund, who did really well.
“What the team has achieved in recent weeks is phenomenal. We are now one step further, but we are still a long way from the end.”
