Unlimited immigration was our mistake – Kemi Badenoch claims

Published on April 06, 2025 at 11:54 AM

Leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch on Sunday admitted that under her leadership mistakes were made in the country's immigration system.

Badenoch stated this while speaking to Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips.

According to her, the Conservative Party is fixing the immigration system at the moment, adding that it is “way too high and needs to be brought down”.

“I am tolerant of us being a multi-ethnic country. Yes, obviously, I mean, look at the two of us,” Badenoch said.

“But that doesn't mean that we should just have unlimited immigration.

“That's one of the mistakes that we made, which, under my leadership, Conservative Party is fixing.”

Badenoch also noted that the current numbers are causing a “huge strain” on public services so her policy would see people having to contribute going forward.
