Published on April 02, 2025 at 07:24 AM

The Department of State Services, DSS, has arrested two main suspects allegedly involved in the last week killing of 16 travellers in Uromi, Esan North-East local government area of Edo State.

The Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the Governor, Friday Ituah, made this announcement in a statement on Tuesday.

Ituah, who said the suspects were arrested in Uromi town following credible intelligence, also reiterated that operatives of various security agencies were hunting for other key suspects involved in the unfortunate incident.

According to him, the arrested suspects have been transferred to Abuja for further interrogation and prosecution by the relevant authorities.

It will be recalled that the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Monday paid a condolence visit to Kano State.

The governor, who revealed that 14 suspects had already been arrested in connection with the killing and were to be moved to Abuja for further interrogation, vowed that justice would be served and those involved in the killing would be brought to justice.

He also assured the families of the victims that adequate compensations would be paid.
