Ward leaders suspend Abia APC Secretary for alleged constitution violation

Published on April 21, 2025 at 07:58 AM

The All Progressive Congress, APC Ahiaukwu Ward 2, Umuahia South LGA of Abia State has suspended the Abia State Secretary of the party, Chidi Avajah for alleged violation of the party's constitution.

They took the decision after a meeting held on Saturday at Okaiuga civic hall Okwu Olokoro which was presided over by the acting Ward Chairman, Ndumele Nwabueze.

The APC Ward leaders, who also suspended Mr Onyekwere Sylvester for allegedly impersonating as acting Ward Chairman, set up a seven-man disciplinary committee to investigate the allegations against the two officials.

According to the APC Ahiaukwu Ward 2 leaders, Avajah allegedly hijacked the party by single handedly appointing an acting Ward Chairman after the death of the former Ward Chairman, in disregard to congress-elected party officials.

They noted that the suspended State Secretary's actions were in violation of article 21 section A, sub sections ii, vi and vii of the constitution of the APC, even as they claimed that he was not paying his monthly dues to the party in violation of article 9 section 9.2 sub section ii.

DAILY POST recalls that former governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu recently, convened a peace, love and reconciliation meeting in his Abuja resident to drum support for unity and reconciliation in Abia APC ahead of the 2027 election.
