On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,”; masked singer “Smile Gentleman”; showed off his many charms!
During the April 27 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, eight new contestants stepped up to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.
In the second match-up of Round 1, “Smile Gentleman”; faced off with “Golden Lady”; through a duet performance of The Ray’s “Cleaning.”;
After their performance, “Smile Gentleman”; offered another hint to his identity by entertaining the crowd with some animal impressions. The masked singer made the audience burst out laughing by passionately imitating a chimpanzee, gorilla, and giraffe.
Smile Gentleman’s hilarious impressions had several panelists—including Kim Gura—convinced that he was a comedian.

Although he stole the audience’s hearts, Smile Gentleman ultimately lost the round to his opponent, and he remained on stage to perform a rousing rendition of Deli Spice’s “Confession.”;
Halfway through the song, he took off his mask to reveal his identity, and the masked singer turned out to be N.Flying’s drummer Kim Jae Hyun.
Notably, Kim Jae Hyun is the younger brother of idol-turned-actress Kim Jae Kyung—and one of his sister’s bandmates, Rainbow member Jisook, was a panelist that day. When host Kim Sung Joo pointed out that Jisook was practically like an older sister to Kim Jae Hyun because they were so close, Jisook expressed regret that she had failed to recognize him.
“I’m so fond of him and he’s really like a younger brother to me,”; said Jisook, before adding with a laugh, “He jokes around with me a lot, but he’s never shown me his monkey impressions before. If I’d seen [those impressions before], I’d have recognized him.”;
When asked if he had any specific goals for the future, Kim Jae Hyun shared, “It hasn’t been that long since I was discharged from the military. So I’d like to show people more of myself from now on. Also, my personal goal is to stay together as a band with the other N.Flying members until we’re 80 years old. So I’d be grateful if you showed love for N.Flying’s music in the future.”;
