Netflix’s upcoming drama “Dear Hongrang”; has unveiled a striking new poster and teaser!
“Dear Hongrang”; is a historical mystery romance that follows Hong Rang (Lee Jae Wook), the long-lost son of Joseon’s largest merchant guild, who returns after 12 years with no memory of his past. As his half-sister Jae Yi (Jo Bo Ah), who spent years desperately searching for him, becomes the only one to question his true identity, an inexplicable emotional bond starts to form between them.
The main poster captures attention with Hong Rang drawing a bowstring while embracing Jae Yi from behind. Their close stance raises questions about the arrow’s target and reflects their complicated relationshipârooted in suspicion and caution, yet charged with unspoken emotions.
Adding to the mystery, Moo Jin (Jung Ga Ram) watches the pair with a wistful gaze, prompting curiosity about his own past. Having spent 12 years as the adopted son of the Min Family’s Guild in Hong Rang’s absence, his quiet presence hints at a deeper story yet to unfold.
Also observing are Min Yeon Eui (Uhm Ji Won), Hong Rang’s biological mother, and Sim Yeol Guk (Park Byung Eun), the leader of the Min Family’s Guild and father to both Hong Rang and Jae Yi. As two figures who have long preserved the guild’s honor and influence, their world is upended by Hong Rang’s returnâsetting the stage for the dramatic events to come.
The trailer opens with Hong Rang’s sudden return to the Min Family’s Guild. His features are identical to the boy who vanished, convincing everyone of his identityâeveryone except Jae Yi. Suspicious of his complete lack of memory, she alone begins to question whether he is truly her brother.
In a powerful scene, Hong Rang aims his bow at Jae Yi as she stands on a tiled rooftop. Her firm wordsâ“He cannot be Hong Rang,”;âunderscore her growing doubt and hint at the emotional tension building between them.
Meanwhile, Moo Jin also begins to investigate Hong Rang’s past. Scenes of Hong Rang fending off unknown enemies with skilled swordsmanshipâwhile grappling with visible signs of traumaâfurther deepen the mystery surrounding him.
The trailer continues with vivid and suspenseful imagery: Hong Rang protecting Jae Yi from danger; Grand Prince Han Pyeong (Kim Jae Wook), the king’s brother and a gifted artist with a discerning eye, watching with intense focus; and a mysterious, white-haired figure moving silently through the snow.
In the closing scene, Hong Rang and Jae Yi face each other on a snowy field. “Whether you are an imposter or not, I hope you are no longer in pain,”; Jae Yi says softly. The moment adds emotional weight and teases the complex relationship that lies ahead.
