We’ve not discussed new aid with US – Ukraine

Published on April 03, 2025 at 06:04 PM

The deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Pavlo Palisa, said that Ukraine has not yet discussed new military aid packages with the US amid uncertainty about additional support from Washington for Kyiv's fight against Russia's full-scale invasion.

Palisa said that regarding new aid packages, they have not yet engaged in dialogue with the American side on the matter.

Palisa, who works on national security and defence in the presidential office, was referring to discussions with US representatives in meetings he attended in Saudi Arabia in March.

The first meeting resulted in the resumption of previously approved American aid to Ukraine after Kyiv indicated its readiness to support a 30-day ceasefire proposal.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said in February that there was no appetite for another funding bill for Ukraine.

In late March, the US reached separate deals with Ukraine and Russia, which included proposals to pause their attacks at sea and against energy targets.

Since then, Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of continuing strikes on energy facilities.

According to Palisa, the Ukrainian side informed the Americans about Russian violations of the moratorium on energy strikes and still considered the agreement with the US regarding it to be valid.
