Influencer slammed for ‘boasting’ about getting an abortion on Mother’s Day for presents in ‘sick joke’

AN influencer has been trolled for ‘boasting’ about getting an abortion on Mother’s Day for presents in a ‘sick joke.’

Charlotte, who has 544.5K TikTok followers, shared two videos on her account explaining why she decided to wait until the day which celebrates motherhood.

Mother's Day was celebrated in the UK on Sunday, 30 March 2025.

Charlotte's first video was uploaded to her account @babycharlotte1 on that same day.

The TikToker shared four pictures of herself wearing what seems to be a hospital gown in a changing room.

In the first picture, the caption reads: “Having an abortion on Mother's Day so I get an extra day of presents every year.”;

The other pictures to follow showed Charlotte posing with her fingers forming in a peace sign.

This post had received 174.9K views, with 779 people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One person blasted her, writing: “Sick, and one day karma will repay you for this.”;

A second added: “Abortion is no laughing matter. I had a miscarriage at five months and had to give birth to a dead baby, so please don’t joke about it.”;

A third commented: “If this is true then you're awful but if it's a joke you're still awful.”;

In a second video, also posted on Mother’s Day on her TikTok, Charlotte captioned it: “Props offensive might delete later.”;

She then spoke to the camera whilst standing in the street explaining how she had just been for an abortion.

“I decided to do it today so I can celebrate Mother's Day every year and still get presents.

“I mean, I was a mother for like 10 minutes, right?”;

This video gained 32.5K views with 99 people rushing to the comments section.

Talking to the other people who were commenting on her video, one pointed out: “Guys her acc (account) is satire.”;

Whilst someone else said: “Watching this makes me sick.”;

And another added: “You’re messed up. There are people who are struggling to have kids and you post something like this.”;


Abortion Laws in Different Countries

  • The UK

In England, Scotland and Wales abortions are allowed before 24 weeks of pregnancy. They can be carried out after 24 weeks in exceptional circumstances.

The termination is only legal when performed by a licensed medical professional (a doctor) and it must also be signed off by two other doctors.

  • Czech Republic

Abortion can be legally performed up to 12 weeks for any reasons and up to 23 weeks for medical reasons.

It can also be carried out at any point of pregnancy in cases of fetal abnormality.

  • The US

After the US Supreme Court overturned Roe V Wade, the national right to abortion has been abolished. Now the abortion laws are in the hands of each state.

Abortion remains legal in 28 states, and In other states, abortion is illegal with rare exceptions such as rape or threat to life.

As of January 2024, 14 states have completely banned abortions while two states – Georgia and South Carolina – have prohibited abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

  • France

Abortion in France is legal until 14 weeks after conception.

They can be performed at later stages if two doctors can certify that doing so will prevent harm or risk to the life of an expectant mother; or if a child will suffer from an incurable illness.
