Published on April 13, 2025 at 09:08 AM

An alleged motorcycle snatcher was on Sunday burnt to death by a mob on Akpehe Road in Wurukum, Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

A resident, Joshua Akor, told Daily Post that two men snatched a motorcycle and were seen pushing it when a lady identified it as a stolen bike.

Akor said, “They were pushing the bike along Akpehe Road, and when a lady identified it as the stolen bike, she immediately alerted some youths.

“One of the suspects escaped, and the other one was nabbed by youths in the area and set ablaze before the arrival of the police.”

Spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, CSP Catherine Anene, could not be reached for confirmation at the time of this report, as calls to her mobile telephone were not answered.
