Israeli army strikes Syrian military bases, targets militants

Published on March 25, 2025 at 11:23 AM

The Israeli military on Tuesday said it had attacked two military bases in central Syria, stating that its troops had also clashed with militants in the country's south.

In a statement, the military said, “A short while ago, the Israel Defense Forces struck military capabilities at the Syrian military bases of Tadmur and T4.”

The two bases are located in Homs province, which has been frequently targeted by Israeli strikes in recent months due to its position on arms shipment routes.

Israel stated that it is targeting military sites linked to Iranian forces and Lebanon's Hezbollah, both allies of the former Syrian government.

The attacks were said to have intensified after Islamist rebels ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on December 8, marking the culmination of more than a decade of civil war.
