Legendary musician, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has come out to state that he is alive and well, in a bid to debunk reports about his death.

The 83-year-old dispelled the rumours in a video released on Tuesday morning.

Singing in a mixture of English, Yoruba and Pidgin English, Obey-Fabiyi said: “Hello, my name is Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi. Satan, you don lose o, Satan, you don lose o, you don pafuka. Na lie lie you dey talk, you don pafuka.”;

The musical performance was then followed up with a statement to members of the public.

He said: “It is fake news that started a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed on to glory.

“It is a lie. I am alive, and that is not the word Jesus has written.”;

The death rumour began to gain traction on social media on Monday and saw fans already paying tribute to Obey-Fabiyi.
