JADON SANCHO is not wanted back at Old Trafford by some of his ‘influential' Manchester United team-mates, it's claimed.

It comes as Chelsea consider backing out of their obligation to buy the player at the end of his loan spell.

Reports claim some members of the United squad felt he could not keep up with the demanding nature of life at Old Trafford.

Senior players in the Manchester United dressing room are reported to have doubts about the winger's ability to cope wit the pressures of life as a Manchester United player, according to the Manchester Evening News.

They do not take issue with his personality, but felt his workrate was not up to scratch before being frozen out by Erik ten Hag last season.

Sancho was booted out of the United squad in September 2023 after Ten Hag claimed he had let his standards slip in training.

The player rebuked that claim on social media, leading to an extended falling out between the two.

Sancho left the club on loan the following January, returning to Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho, 25, joined Chelsea in a Deadline Day loan move at the start of this season, impressing on debut before fading into anonymity with a series of forgettable performances.

While he is yet to win over supporters after scoring just twice so far this season, he does seems to have impressed head coach Enzo Maresca, who said “he is doing very well for me.”

A boyhood Chelsea fan, Sancho arrived at Stamford Bridge on loan with an obligation to buy, with Chelsea expected to shell out £20-25m for his services come the end of the season.

But it has now been reported that the contract features a break clause which would allow the Blues to send Sancho back to United if they pay up £5m.

The club are yet to come to a decision on Sancho's future, though the player may be interested in another transfer move as he looks to rediscover his form.

Sancho's move to United initially seemed a dream switch, but fast turned into a nightmare after he fell out with the manager.

He has scored just 12 goals for United in 83 appearances.

Sancho seems to be stuck in no man's land, unwanted by his parent club and failing to cement a new role with Chelsea.

Some reports claim he is interested in another return to Borussia Dortmund, where he first made his name after moving from Manchester City's youth setup in 2017.
