Inside golf bad boy John Daly’s love affair with Hooters as notorious skimpy-outfit restaurant files for bankruptcy

JOHN DALY has been the unofficial face of Hooters for several years.

But the golf cult hero's relationship with the iconic American restaurant chain could soon come to an end following their filing for bankruptcy.

Hooters chiefs, however, are hoping to stop the chain from going belly up by selling its current crop of corporate-owned restaurants to two franchisees.

That will be music to the ears of Daly, who practically lives his life in the restaurants.

The 58-year-old has been a fan of the chain for several years and partied at several branches across the USA.

And the two-time major winner's love of the brand resulted in him landing a promotional deal back in 2022.

He said: “As a longtime fan of the brand off the course, I am excited this relationship with Hooters extends to the greens.

“This will be a terrific partnership as Hooters is all about authentic fun.

“I am eager to represent the brand and have a great time while doing so.”;

Daly has become such a regular at Hooters branches that he's become a beloved figure among the scantily-clad waitresses and diners.

They regularly take photos with ‘Long John' and share them on Instagram.

One diner at the Augusta Hooters even shared a photo of a special signature Daly gave her on her bum.

Daly loves to knock back a drink or two during his visits and was once reportedly carried out of the restaurant after drinking his weight in gin and tonic.

Comedian Theo Von said on his podcast: “I saw John Daly overdose on gin one night and had to get carried out of a restaurant.

“Not even a bar.”;

Daly is beloved by the Hooters brass, so much so that he's said to have a “secret room” in their headquarters.

Social media star Caleb Pressley said: “I went into the corporate office, and I was like ‘I’m here to see Jon Gruden.’

“By the way, the corporate office of Hooters.

“So I go in there and was like ‘I wanna go see Jon Gruden,’ and they just take me back to his office.

“He wasn’t there, but his assistant gave me a tour... And they were like ‘This is John Daly’s room.’

“And I was like ‘What do you mean John Daly’s room?’

“And they open it up and it was like, you know ‘Chronicles of Narnia,’ the wall has a bunch of books that you can open?”;

“It was literally that and you push it open and it was a very small room smaller than this room.

“And it had a mattress on the floor, and a little putting thing.

“And I guess John Daly lives in there, in Jon Gruden’s office inside the Hooter’s headquarters.”;
