Judge orders Trump administration to bring back Venezuelan mistakenly deported

Published on April 04, 2025 at 09:16 PM

A federal judge in the United States has ordered President Donald Trump's administration to immediately make arrangements for the return of a man who was mistakenly deported to a prison in El Salvador.

The man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia from Maryland, was mistakenly deported to an El Salvador prison by Trump's government.

US District Judge Paula Xinis issued the order on Friday, stating that Garcia had been illegally deported to El Salvador.

The court directed that he must be returned by Monday before midnight.

DAILY POST reported that more than 200 Venezuelan immigrants facing deportation were sent to El Salvador earlier this month.

They are currently being held in the country’s maximum-security prison.

Trump’s administration has also deported immigrants of various nationalities to other countries in Central America.

However, El Salvador is the only country where the US is sending individuals to be imprisoned.
