Justice Theophilus Nnamdi Nzeukwu has been sworn in as the new acting Chief Judge of Imo State, following the long-standing vacancy created by the compulsory retirement of his predecessor, Justice Theresa Chikeka.

He was sworn in by the Governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma, who described him as a seasoned jurist with a distinguished legal career spanning decades. The governor maintained that Nzeukwu’s appointment marks a new chapter for justice delivery in the state.

The new acting Chief Judge hails from Egwedu-Atta Autonomous Community in Njaba LGA.

His educational journey began at Atta Central School and Bishop Shanahan College, Orlu, before proceeding to Federal Government College. He later gained admission to study Law at the University of Lagos.

Before his recent appointment, he served in various capacities, including as Chief Magistrate in the Imo State Judiciary, Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court of Owerri, Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice, Owerri, and as a High Court Judge in Owerri.

As he assumes office, legal observers expect Justice Nzeukwu to bring stability, integrity, and efficiency to the state judiciary.
