Kano Commissioner resigns

Published on March 26, 2025 at 10:41 AM

The Kano State Commissioner for Internal Security Services, Major General Muhammad Inuwa Idris (Rtd), has stepped down from his position.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has consequently accepted his resignation, expressing gratitude for Idris’ contributions to the state.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor acknowledged the former commissioner’s efforts in establishing the newly created ministry.

“Governor Yusuf appreciates the retired Army General for his dedication and service to the state within his short tenure. His role in the initial take-off of the ministry has been commendable,” the statement read.

Governor Yusuf also extended his best wishes to Idris, describing him as a dedicated public servant and a patriotic Nigerian.

Idris' resignation follows that of Mohammed Diggol, the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, who stepped down on January 5, 2025.

Reasons for this latest resignation has not been made public yet.
