Kano: Fire guts part of demolished shop owned by TikToker Rahama Sa’idu

A fire outbreak on Thursday night gutted a section of a shop owned by popular TikTok personality, Rahama Sa’idu, barely 24 hours after part of the structure was demolished by officials of the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA).

The shop, located along UDB Road in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, had its frontage pulled down on Thursday by KNUPDA for allegedly violating urban development regulations.

Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed by authorities, eyewitnesses suggest the blaze may have been triggered by welding work near the demolished area.

“A welder was hired to repair the section that was pulled down, and while the welding was going on, fire suddenly erupted and spread quickly,”; said one eyewitness who requested anonymity.

Another witness added that the fire extended beyond Rahama’s shop, affecting a nearby photography studio.

“It wasn’t just her place; the flames reached the photo studio next door too,”; he said.

Security personnel have since sealed off the area to prevent looting and further damage.
