Kano gov nominates retired Air Vice Marshal Umar Ibrahim as commissioner

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has forwarded a letter to the State House of Assembly seeking approval to appoint retired Air Vice Marshal Umar Ibrahim as a commissioner and member of the state’s executive council.

Reading the content of the letter during Monday’s plenary session, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, said the governor described the nominee as a highly experienced and knowledgeable.

He also added that The retired military personnel's expertise would greatly benefit the people of Kano.

Falgore added that Governor Yusuf urged the Assembly to carry out a diligent and law-abiding screening process to thoroughly assess the nominee’s qualifications and competence.

The Kano State House of Assembly, has however, scheduled Tuesday for Air Vice Marshal Umar Ibrahim to appear before the House for screening.
