KATE Garraway has signed up to the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors — the first star-studded spin-off of the smash hit show.

The Good Morning Britain host, 57, is joining Stephen Fry, 67, and former England rugby star Joe Marler, 34, at Ardross Castle.

She appeared in reality show I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! — coming fourth in 2019 in a contest won by EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa.

Four months later, husband Derek Draper, with whom she has two children, contracted Covid.

He died in January last year after a four-year fight.

During his struggle, she campaigned to raise awareness about the effects of long Covid and was candid about the financial difficulties she faced funding his care.

A source said she will be in Scotland next month to start work on the show, again presented by Claudia Winkleman.

The source added: “Kate has signed her contract for Celebrity Traitors.

“The BBC were avoiding stars who’ve done reality TV before but Kate’s someone they want to support and champion.

“She’s a great journalist and they think she’s perfect for a seat at the table.

“She’s had such a tough time since losing Derek and is a huge fan of the show so this is a dream come true for her.”;

Flying Eze revealed last August how TV favourite Fry was the first big name to sign up.

Marler joined earlier this month.

Other names rumoured to be in the mix include broadcaster Clare Balding, singer Paloma Faith, and Olympic dive champion Tom Daley.

A show spokesman declined to comment on the line-up.

He said: “The Traitors includes lies and deception, so it would be foolhardy for any Faithful to speculate before the game has begun.”;
