If you were a fan of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s turn as Huntress in Birds of Prey but wished you’d gotten to really see her in action, then you’ll be itching to check out the Netflix original movie Kate.
Winstead leads this action film playing the titular character, an assassin who has a vendetta against and a death card for the person who poisoned her. But there’s a twist: because of that, killing them will be the last thing she ever does as a hitwoman.
With poison coursing through her veins, she only has a 24-hour window to find and take down her killer before death calls her number, and she’s just another casualty of the hard life she chose.
Outside of its premise not much is known about Kate, but here’s what you can expect from this Tokyo-based movie.

Kate synopsis
Star Mary Elizabeth Winstead told EW this about the film:
“Kate is a ruthless assassin who is on a job in Tokyo, and she gets poisoned. She finds out she has 24 hours to live before the poison kills her, so she sets out on a mission to find out who poisoned her and kill them before she dies. Along the way, she forges this bond with this teenage girl named Ani, and they end up taking on this mission together. It’s a heartfelt, brutal assassin story!”
We’re expecting a wild ride that’s full-throttle and high octane, based on the clock that’s ticking for the assassin. When you’re as desperate as this hitwoman must be to make sure she drags her murderer into the clutches of death with her, there’s no other way the film could be but tense and adrenaline-filled.
