Katsina: Bandits flee as troops thwart attack in Kurfi LGA

Published on April 11, 2025 at 11:11 AM

A banditry and kidnapping attempt was foiled by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA in the early hours of Wednesday, in Kafin Soli, a village in Kauyen Danko, Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his official X handle on Friday, a group of heavily armed bandits stormed the village around 1:00 a.m in an attempt to carry out an attack.

However, troops responded swiftly after receiving a distress call from residents.

“A confrontation ensued between the troops and the bandits, forcing the criminals to flee,” Zagazola wrote.

The report added that while the immediate threat was neutralized, security forces have launched a manhunt to track down and eliminate the fleeing assailants.
