Katsina State probes Hisbah officers over alleged assault on woman

Published on April 21, 2025 at 01:26 PM

The Katsina State Ministry of Women Affairs has launched an investigation into allegations of abuse by Hisbah officers against a woman in the state.

This follows a viral interview with DCL Hausa last week , where a woman accused Hisbah personnel of beating her severely, resulting in a broken leg and damage to her ear.

Reportes indicate that the Ministry has already commenced a transparent and fair investigation into the allegations, assuring the public that justice will be served.

There have long been allegations against Hisbah officers in the state for the excessive use of force during arrests and detentions, but the organization has consistently denied such claims, stating that only those supporting criminal activities are behind such narratives.
