Katsina witnessing security improvements – NSA

Published on April 10, 2025 at 03:20 PM

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has confirmed significant improvements in security in Katsina State, highlighting recent developments as evidence of progress in the ongoing fight against insecurity.

Ribadu made these remarks during a condolence visit to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda following the death of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barebari.

Speaking to journalists, Ribadu expressed optimism about the current security situation in the state, noting that it is considerably better than in previous months.

“We’ve seen improvement in the security situation in Katsina State,”; Ribadu declared. “Everyone can testify that things are now getting better. God willing, we are reaching a point where people will fully return to peaceful living and normalcy.”;

While acknowledging that complete peace may take time, Ribadu commended Governor Radda’s leadership and the efforts of local security agencies in restoring calm to the state. He emphasized that the progress made so far has been noticed by the federal government.

“No one can say peace has completely returned because the situation took time to escalate. But we are on the right path, and the achievements recorded so far are commendable,”; he stated.

Ribadu also reiterated the federal government’s commitment to supporting ongoing security efforts in Katsina and praised the state’s approach to intelligence-led security interventions.

The NSA’s visit, which was prompted by the passing of Governor Radda’s mother, was also an opportunity for him to offer heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Federal Government and the National Security Council.

In response, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe thanked Ribadu for his visit and kind words, saying, “Let this moment reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, security, and progress.”;

Ribadu was accompanied by high-level dignitaries, including Senator Shehu Umar Buba, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Security, Retired General Sarkin Yaki Bello, and other senior officials.
