Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has expressed his sympathy with the people of Garin Kestu Atuwo Ward in Shanga Local Government Area following a devastating rainstorm that destroyed over 240 houses.

DAILY POST earlier reported that the heavy rainfall, which occurred on Tuesday night, caused significant damage to both houses and property, valued at millions of Naira.

Fortunately, no lives were lost in the disaster, which was acknowledged as a blessing.

Represented by the Chairman of Shanga Local Government, Alhaji Audu Dan Audu, the governor consoled the victims on Wednesday and urged them to accept the disaster as an act of God.

Alhaji Audu Dan Audu assured the affected communities that the state government would provide support in due course.

“The governor asked me to come and console you and assess the extent of the damage. Insha'Allah, the government will assist those affected,” he said.

He further appealed to the victims to remain patient, stating that the state government would soon offer aid, including building materials, to help rebuild the damaged homes.
