The Kebbi State Government has approved the appointment of Dr. Aminu Haliru-Bunza as the new District Head of Bunza in the Gwandu Emirate.

This was announced in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Umar-Dutsinmari, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

The appointment follows the death of the former district head, Alhaji Dr. Mustapha Bunza, in Bunza Local Government Area.

According to the commissioner, nine candidates from the ruling houses applied for the position.

He said all applicants were screened by the Emirate’s Selection Committee before a shortlist of three was forwarded to the state government.

“Those shortlisted include Dr. Aminu Haliru-Bunza, Muhammad Bello Aliyu Bunza, and Alhaji Ladan Sajo-Bunza.

“After thorough assessment, Dr. Aminu Haliru-Bunza was selected and approved as the new District Head of Bunza,”; the statement read.
